[PureInsight.org] This is a story about a little cat. I was living at one of my girlfriend’s relative’s places. A really cute and active cat lives in her house. Whenever we practice the exercises or send forth righteous thoughts, the cat becomes very quiet and lies down nearby. After we finish the exercises, it gets up and continues playing. One morning after sending forth righteous thoughts I wanted to take a nap. Just as I lay down the cat started crazily making sounds. When I heard it making all that racket, I thought, “Would it not be better if I…
[PureInsight.org] In ancient Chinese legends, peaches and immortal jujubes are often fruits in the worlds of immortals. For example, Journey to the West describes the magical effects of peaches. Today I am going to tell a story about an immortal jujube. In the Ming Dynasty, in the area of Dongting Mountain in Wuxian County (now Suzhou City), there was a scholar surnamed Xi. In his later years, Xi pursued the Dao. One day, Xi Sheng was walking alone under Moli Peak, which is the main peak of Dongshan Mountain in Suzhou. Suddenly, he saw a Daoist priest. This Daoist priest…
[PureInsight.org] About a month or so prior to writing this article, a friend of mine wanted to see the ocean with me. It was dusk, and the tide was receding. The moon was rising, yet the sun had yet to fully set. Gazing out at the ocean, I could not help but think of some verses from a classical Chinese poem: “As the bright moon shines over the sea; From far away you share this moment with me.” And, “Sunset glowing clouds and lone goose together fly; One are the Autumn water and the skies on high!” I sat alone…
[PureInsight.org] Chinese Martial Arts has a long history with many different schools. It is known as one of the four national quintessences of China and is loved by people of all ethnic groups. Martial Arts was originally used as a means of military training and was closely related to ancient military affairs. It played a very important role in the age of cold weapons, and its characteristics of combat are obvious. In practice, its purpose is to kill, injure, and subdue an opponent. It often uses the most effective combat methods to force the opponent to lose the ability to…
The probability of a catastrophic U.S. debt default has risen by 300 percent since the start of the year. A recent report from MSCI, an American financial service provider, warned about the tripling of a debt default and said that Congress must pass a spending bill to avoid a disaster in the next few months. “Implied default probabilities have increased to levels not seen since the 2013 debt-ceiling debate,” MSCI reported. The financial services provider said that the probability of a U.S. debt default has soared from 3.3 percent at the start of January to 11.3 percent as of last week. The Federal government…
This story is the previous life account of an individual working in the media. This individual is a descendant of an English soldier. In the 1880s, the English had set up a colony in Australia to exile convicts. It was really tough here during the initial days. Convicts and guards watching over them stayed in the plains of the southeastern coastal area. Behind them was the Great Dividing Range, and in front was the Tasman Sea. Winds from the Pacific Ocean directly blew here (New South Wales). As they had just settled here, food was in short supply. They had…
My mother passed away 29 years ago. She told me a true story in my childhood and I still remember it. After CCP came into power in 1949, a poor peasant family sold the only pig they raised to a neighbor, who agreed to make the payment on the first day of the following month. On the day of payment, the owner had to go out to attend to his business and instructed his wife to keep the money in a safe place. The elder brother of the buyer came with the money and asked why the husband was not…
I would like to first pass along my greetings to everyone on the advent of the Chinese New Year. New Year’s would normally be a time for sharing a few pleasant remarks about the occasion. But I am seeing imminent danger approaching humanity, and have been called upon by divine beings to pass along, for this reason, several things to everyone in this world. Each of what I am about to disclose is a higher, closely guarded secret, and these are being shared to provide a true picture of affairs, and to give people another chance at salvation. First is…
China outpaces the United States in military ship buildup, according to veteran intelligence officer and author Grant Newsham. Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro on Feb. 28 warned that the Chinese military was producing warships at a greater pace than the U.S., jeopardizing American supremacy on the seas. Del Toro noted that China currently has in hand approximately 340 ships and is seeking to add 100 more by 2030. Newsham echoed Toro’s opinion, adding that the number doesn’t even include the regime’s coast guard ships, which are built like warships, and a maritime militia that adds some 1000s of ships to that.…
1) Getting outside the cage Boddhidarma is Shakyamuni’s disciple of the 28th generation. It was very difficult for him when he came to China to spread the Shakyamuni’s Fa to save people. People didn’t believe his Buddha Fa. One day when walking, Boddhidharma heard a caged parrot call out to him: “Ah, from the West, from the West! Please sir, release me from this cage!” Boddhidharma glanced at the parrot and replied, “Emerge from the cage, emerge from the cage! Close your eyes, stretch your legs and hold your breath. Do so, and you’ll emerge from the cage.” The parrot…
